THE MIDLAND BEDLINGTON TERRIER CLUB
JUDGES LIST CRITERIA

As of 1st July 2020

 
 
 

A1 List
1. For persons that have previously been approved by The Kennel Club to award CC’s in the breed and have completed their first appointment and have the support of The Midland Bedlington Terrier Club.
2. Agreement to write a critique and submit to the club, The KC Critiques website, and the canine press for publication.

A2 List
1. For persons who fulfil all the requirements for the A3 list and who have been assessed in accordance with KC requirements and accepted by the KC for inclusion on an A2 list and have the support The Midland Bedlington Terrier Club.
2. Agreement to write a critique and submit to the club, The KC Critiques website, and the canine press for publication.

A3 List
Breed Specialist
1. To have a minimum of 7 years judging experience in the breed and have the support of the Midland Bedlington Terrier Club.
2. To have judged the breed at a minimum of 6 open shows, including at least 1 Breed Club show or a championship shows without CC’s.
3. To have judged a minimum of 40 dogs in the breed which may include 5 dogs at seminars.
4. To have bred and/or owned a minimum of 3 dogs when they obtained their 1st entry in the Kennel Club Stud Book (save in exceptional circumstances).
5. To have stewarded at 12 shows.
6. To have attended at least one Breed Specific Seminar run in accordance with the relevant Kennel Club Code of Best Practice and passed an examination and/or assessment where applicable.
7. Attend a Seminar on the Requirements of a Dog Show Judge focusing on Kennel Club Regulations and Judging Procedures delivered by an approved Kennel Club Accredited Trainer and pass the exam.
8. Attend and pass the Points of a Dog assessment delivered by an approved Kennel Club Accredited Trainer.
9. Attend a seminar on Conformation and Movement delivered by an approved Kennel Club Accredited
Trainer.
10. Complete a minimum 12 full days stewarding appointments
11. Agreement to write a critique and submit to the club, The KC Critiques website, and the canine press for publication.


Non-Specialist
1. To have a minimum of 7 years judging experience in any breed (to include 5 years judging
Bedlington Terriers) and have the support of The Midland Bedlington Terrier Club.

2. To have judged the breed at a minimum of 6 open shows, including at least 1 Breed Club show or a championship shows without CC’s.
3. To have judged a minimum of 40 dogs in this breed, which may include 5 dogs at seminar.
4. To have awarded CC’s in at least one other breed.
5. To have attended at least one Breed Specific Seminar run in accordance with the relevant Kennel Club Code of Best Practice and passed an examination and/or assessment where applicable. Plus have approval from two different mentors.
6. Attend a Seminar on the Requirements of a Dog Show Judge focusing on Kennel Club Regulations and Judging Procedures delivered by an approved Kennel Club Accredited Trainer and pass the exam.
7. Attend and pass the Points of a Dog assessment delivered by an approved Kennel Club Accredited Trainer.
8. Attend a seminar on Conformation and Movement delivered by an approved Kennel Club
Accredited Trainer.
9. Complete a minimum 12 full days stewarding appointments
10. Agreement to write a critique and submit to the club, The KC Critiques website, and the canine press for publication.

B List
Breed Specialist

1. To have a minimum of 5 years experience owning and exhibiting this breed and have the support of the Midland Bedlington Terrier Club.
2. To have judged a minimum of 20 dogs at shows with an adequate geographical spread.
3. To have attended a breed specific seminar and passed the multiple-choice examination on the breed standard.
4. Attend a Seminar on the Requirements of a Dog Show Judge focusing on Kennel Club Regulations and Judging Procedures delivered by an approved Kennel Club Accredited Trainer and pass the exam.
5. Attend and pass the Points of a Dog assessment delivered by an approved Kennel Club Accredited Trainer.
6. Attend a seminar on Conformation and Movement delivered by an approved Kennel Club Accredited Trainer.
7. Complete a minimum 2 full days stewarding appointments.
8. Agreement to write a critique and submit to the club, The KC Critiques website, and the canine press for publication.


Non-specialist
1. To have a minimum of 7 years judging experience in any one breed, 5 years in this breed and have the support of the Midland Bedlington Terrier Club.
2. To have judged a minimum of 20 dogs of this breed
3. To have attended one breed specific seminar and have received approval from their mentor.
4. Attend a Seminar on the Requirements of a Dog Show Judge focusing on Kennel Club Regulations and Judging Procedures delivered by an approved Kennel Club Accredited Trainer and pass the exam.
5. Attend and pass the Points of a Dog assessment delivered by an approved Kennel Club Accredited Trainer.
6. Attend a seminar on Conformation and Movement delivered by an approved Kennel Club Accredited Trainer.
7. Complete a minimum 2 full days stewarding appointments.
8. Agreement to write a critique and submit to the club, The KC Critiques website, and the canine press for publication.
